We need your time
With the exception of a two person management team, CHARMS is run entirely by volunteers. At present we have regular helpers but are always looking for more. Below are some of the areas where we need help. If you are able to spare time to assist in any of these capacities, you will have the gratitude of the many people for whom CHARMS is a lifeline.

Chamber operators
Operating the pressure chamber is a responsible position. The comfort and well being of the people in the chamber depends entirely on the operators. It is they who control the oxygen flow and ensure that the right pressure is maintained. Each session takes about an hour, during which time the operators sit at the controls monitoring the dials and, via an intercom, keep the occupants informed of their progress. Before being permitted to supervise, all operators undergo a period of thorough training.

Help with fund-raising
Coffee mornings, quizzes, dances, sponsored swims, walks and marathon runs are just a few of the ways that people have raised money for us in the past. If you could arrange a similar event on our behalf, or spare time to join us on an official fund-raising day, you can be sure that you will have our full support.

Practical help
Our premises need to be well maintained to ensure the safety and well being of our visitors. We would, therefore, like to build a register of Electricians, Plumbers, Painters, Decorators and other skilled craftsmen who would be prepared to give their time when the occasion arises.

General help
If you are good with people why not become a regular visitor to our centre. Call in and meet the people receiving treatment and their carers. Perhaps you could make them a cup of tea, have a chat with them or lend a helping hand around the centre.

The Financial Bit
As more and more people use our chambers we become more and more financially stretched so it is essential for us to maintain continuous fundraising. CHARMS is entirely dependant on voluntary support and needs in excess of £40,00 every year to supply the oxygen, to maintain the centre and its equipment. Of course, if we could only raise money over and above this sum there is a great deal more we could do to make a lot of people's lives more bearable.

Donations
Whether made personally, by a company or through 'payroll giving' no donation is ever too small. Every donation, what ever the size, will be gratefully received and treasured not only by us but by the hundreds of people for whom our centre is a life line. And you have our promise that every penny will be wisely spent.

Business Sponsorships
There are many opportunities for sponsorship at CHARMS. You could meet the cost of oxygen for just one person or  for an entire chamber. Perhaps you would prefer to supply goods from your stock such as office equipment, electrical goods or even tea and coffee. The range is endless and sponsorships can be tailored to suit you. As a sponsorship should always work to our mutual advantage, we will do our best to ensure your organization receives the recognition its generosity so richly deserves. Again, we need your help.
